Christmas and New Year 2024/2025

The Executive and Members of Ipswich Historical Society would like to wish all our friends, visitors and colleagues a very happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

The Society is closed from 15 December 2024 until 15 January 2025 (inclusive).  We will be open again for visitors from Thursday 16 January 10am to 2pm.

A special program will be available for children during the last two weeks of the school holidays. Parents can help their children locate and note some of Nea, our resident possum's favourite artefacts as they explore the museum. This program provides each child with a pencil and a booklet showing the artefacts to be found with a place to tick each one off when discovered.

Once they have found all the items in their booklet they return to the main room and will be awarded a possum coin in a presentation case.

If you have more than one child with you, they can each have a different set of items to find.  There are also some different rewards available.

This program has been very well received and will engage your youngsters in discovering the past.
